Enlit Europe brings together utilities, grid operators, meter manufacturers and technology providers from more than 140 countries, with 750+ exhibitors and 15,000+ attendees expected in Vienna. For Forte, it is a direct opportunity to meet the European metering and smart-grid supply chain in one place.
What Forte Will Bring to Vienna
Forte's exhibit is built around one question that every meter designer faces: how do you guarantee a decade of service from a device that cannot easily be serviced? Four product families answer it from different angles.
| Product Family | What It Delivers |
|---|---|
| ER Li-SOCl₂ Battery 3.6 V | The workhorse for smart water, gas, heat and electricity meters. Specific energy up to 430 Wh/kg, self-discharge ≤1% per year, shelf life beyond 10 years, operating range -55°C to +85°C. |
ER High Temperature Battery 3.6V | For meter pits, valve chambers and outdoor cabinets where heat is the real limit. The high-temperature series operates from -40°C to +150°C without sacrificing shelf life. |
| CR Li-MnO₂ Battery 3.0 V | Higher discharge current with no voltage delay after storage. Suited to devices that need instant readiness, including security and portable medical equipment. |
| ER+FPC (Capacitor) hybrid power solution | Combines a Li-SOCl₂ cell with a battery capacitor. The capacitor absorbs transmission bursts, the cell supplies long-term energy — long life and high pulse output in one package. |
Why Pulse Capability Decides Smart Meter Reliability
A smart meter spends most of its life drawing only microamps. Then, several times a day, it wakes up and transmits — and the instantaneous current can jump to hundreds of milliamps, sometimes more than one amp. Li-SOCl₂ chemistry offers excellent energy density but limited burst capability. If the transmission peak exceeds the cell's pulse rating, voltage collapses, and the result is a failed transmission or a device reset.
Forte's ER+FPC solution addresses this at the system level: the capacitor handles the burst, the cell handles the endurance. While the device sleeps, the cell trickle-charges the capacitor at microamp levels; when a transmission is required, the capacitor releases the current instantly. The battery never faces the surge directly, and communication success rates hold up — including at low temperatures, where pulse capability normally degrades fastest.
Certified for European Deployments
Forte's batteries are certified and tested to the standards European metering programmes require: RoHS, REACH, CE, IEC and UN38.3, supported by ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems. Documentation and test reports are available to project teams during evaluation.
About Forte Battery
Wuhan Forte Battery Co., Ltd. has specialized in lithium primary batteries for 26 years. The company is a National High-Tech Enterprise and a provincial-level "Little Giant" (Specialized, Sophisticated, Differentiated, Innovative) firm, holding more than 40 national patents. In 2025 Forte invested RMB 120 million in the Xiaogan Linkong Industrial Park, with production expected to start by the end of 2026; annual capacity will rise from 10 million to 46 million cells.
Forte supplies Li-SOCl₂, Li-MnO₂ and customized battery packs to smart metering, IoT, security, medical and industrial customers worldwide.
Meet Us at Booth B.192
The Forte team will be on hand throughout all three days to discuss cell selection, pulse requirements and customized pack design. If you are planning a metering or grid project and want to compare options against your actual load profile, bring the numbers — we will size the solution with you at the stand.
